Longitudinal Study of the Effectiveness of a Pre-K Multisensory Literacy Curriculum, Teacher Experience, and Professional Development on Children's Learning Outcomes

Supported by a major grant from the Institute of Educational Sciences at the U.S. Department of Education, this study will run until 2007. The study examines the growth of literacy and language in preschool age children living in poverty. It explores how different learning environments and curricula may influence young children's development in these domains. It is also investigating how different forms of professional development for early childhood educators may influence their beliefs and attitudes and pedagogy in the teaching of literacy to young children.

The principal investigator is Anne Cunningham.
