Faculty/Staff Online Tools & Resources

  • AirBears a wireless LAN service available in selected locations around campus.
  • bSpace a web-based communication and collaboration environment.
  • E-Grades: A Faculty User's Guide to UCB's Online Grading System
  • Bear Facts login for faculty for review of student information such as class lists, wait lists, e-mail for students lists, registration, grades, and more.
  • Graduate Division Information for Faculty & Staff links to some of the material and information most frequently requested by faculty and staff from Graduate Division offices.
  • About your CalNet ID your online identity to access many UC Berkeley online services.
    • CalNet Customer Support (activating your CalNet ID, changing/resetting your passphrase)
    • You will need your Employee ID number (9-digit number on your Cal 1 Card or Earnings Statement) to activate your CalNet ID or reset your forgotten passphrase

    • CalNet Passphrase Requirements
      • minimum 9 characters, may include spaces (which is why they call it a passphrase)
      • must contain characters from at least three of the following:
        • English uppercase (A through Z)
        • English lowercase (a through z)
        • numeric digits (0 through 9)
        • non-alphanumeric characters (such as !, $, #, or %)
      • may not contain your first name, middle name, last name, or your CalNet ID itself.
    • Getting a Cal 1 Card (Cal Photo ID)
  • CalMail your @berkeley.edu e-mail account
    • To set up your account, click Create Account under Quick Links menu on left sidebar
    • You can forward your mail to another email address and you can also choose whether to keep a copy of incoming mail in your CalMail Inbox. Please refer to How do I forward my mail? for more details.
  • Viewing Your Online Earnings Statement (Instructional web page, summarized below)

    • Go to At Your Service Online (AYSO) - the Office of the President's Human Resources and Benefits web site for all University of California employees.
    • To login, you need to enter a username and password. (NOTE: This Web site does not use UC Berkeley CalNet authentication.)
    • New Users: Click the 'New User' link and follow the instructions on the website. New hires may use their birth date as their password during the first 30 days after your hire date.
    • Returning Users: Enter your AYSO login ID and password. If you have forgotten your ID and/or password, click on the applicable link. You will be asked to identify yourself with your SSN or username. If you have a email address on file, a temporary password will be emailed to you. If you do not have an email address on file, send an email to payhelp@berkeley.edu with subject heading 'Reset AYSO password'. Include your name, employee ID, and phone number in email. Central payroll will send you an email to notify you that your password has been reset. Your temporary password will be your Date of Birth in MMDDYYYY format.
  • NOTE: I recommend using a 'universal' login for anything UC Berkeley related, i.e. setting your At Your Service Online, etc. Username and Password to be the same as your CalNet ID and Passphrase.
