Educational Leadership

This program prepares individuals for several career paths: administrator positions or teacher leadership in K-12 settings, particularly at schools undergoing reform; positions in government agencies concerned with educational policy and management; positions in education reform organizations; and research about the preparation of teachers and leaders. Unlike the LEEP program, which prepares individuals to work in K-12 districts and related organizations, the Ph.D in Education Policy serves a broader range of interests. It follows a conventional academic calendar rather than being concentrated in summers and on weekends. All students follow a sequence of required courses in educational policy and organization, and then devise coursework, internships, and research experiences to focus on areas of interest. Specializations might include school reform, education and work, program planning and evaluation, and the administration of teaching and learning.

Please note: Educational Leadership is not the same program as
Leadership for Educational Equity
