ony Mirabelli is a lecturer in the Graduate School of Education, and a graduate advisor for the Cultural Studies of Sport in Education program. He also is the Coordinator of the Tutorial Program for the Athletic Study Center, and an Academic Specialist who works closely with student athletes who have special academic needs. He earned his BA in Philosophy from the University of Illinois, Urbana, and went on to earn his MA in Anglo-American Literature from the University of London, University College, England. He earned his PhD in Education in Language, Literacy and Culture from the University of California, Berkeley. In 2003 he won the Chancellor's Outstanding Staff Award in recognition of exemplary contributions to the University's mission of teaching, research and public service.
