Bequests and Gift Planning
Gift planning may enable you to satisfy personal financial
planning needs in addition to providing the University with important,
long-term support. Some gift plans may provide income for life (or a
term of years), an immediate income tax charitable deduction, avoidance
of capital gains tax, and professional asset management (if the University
serves as trustee). Options include pooled income funds, charitable
remainder trusts, and charitable gift annuities, as well as gifts of
real estate, life insurance, and retirement assets.
If a gift is made through your will, you obtain significant estate tax
benefits.
For more information, please call the GSE's Office of Development and
External Relations at 510-643-9784, or
call University Relations' Office of Planned Giving at 510-642-6300.
